About Me

PhD Student at Stanford University

Hi, I'm Lucas Sant'Anna. I grew up in San Jose, California, and I completed my BS in Biomedical Engineering and Physics at Northwestern University. I'm currently a PhD student in Bioengineering at Stanford University. I'm interested in bridging computation and experimentation in synthetic biology research.

At Northwestern, I worked in the Kamat Lab where I study novel drug delivery technologies and materials such as phase-separated liposomes. I've also worked with Dr. Shenoy at Penn using computational models to study the structure and dynamics of chromatin.

Besides my research, I'm also interested in graphic design and scientific visualization. I've worked as a music journalist and graphic designer for WNUR, Northwestern's student-run radio station, as well as Mayfest Productions, the organization that puts on Dillo Day, the largest student-run musical festival in the nation.
